Privacy policy
Last updated: 11 October 2026
Draft. This page describes how the current website is designed to handle information. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Update it if your actual business practices or service providers differ.
Who we are
This website operates under the name Townsite.au. For privacy questions, contact us at our contact email.
Information you provide
If you send an enquiry, the form can include your name, business name, email address, phone number, business type, current website, website goals, requested pages or features, additional requirements and preferred timeframe. If you become a client, project records may also include a quote, project status, estimated completion date, selected features, notes and contact details.
Why we use it
We use information you provide to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, communicate about requested work, deliver agreed website services and keep ordinary business records.
How enquiries are sent
If a Formspree endpoint is configured for this site, the enquiry form sends the information you enter to Formspree so it can be delivered to the configured email inbox. If Formspree is not configured, the form opens a draft in your own email application and nothing is sent until you choose to send that email.
Hosting and technical data
This site is intended to be hosted using Cloudflare. Like most hosting and security providers, a host can receive technical request information such as an IP address, browser or device details, requested pages, timestamps and security-related logs when a visitor connects to the site. If you deploy this site with a different provider, update this policy.
Analytics and browser storage
The site saves your analytics choice in your browser’s local storage. Cloudflare Web Analytics is only loaded by this site after you choose “Accept” and only if an analytics token has been configured. You can reopen the choice using “Cookie settings” in the footer. The site does not need analytics in order for the enquiry form or project portal to work.
Project portal
The current project portal stores encrypted project records in a public website file and uses the client’s project code in the browser to decrypt the matching record. The project code should be kept private. The portal is intended for ordinary project updates and should not be used for highly sensitive information. Client-side encryption is not the same as authenticated server-side access.
Service providers and overseas processing
Cloudflare, Google/Gmail and Formspree may be involved depending on how the site is configured and how an enquiry is sent. These are international providers and their processing locations and terms can change. Check the current privacy information for each provider you actually use before treating this policy as final.
How long information is kept
Retention depends on why the information is held and on any business or legal record-keeping requirements. Townsite.au does not publish a fixed retention period on this site. You can contact us to ask about a particular record or to request deletion; some records may need to be kept where there is a legal or legitimate business reason to retain them.
Security
We take reasonable steps in the website code to reduce avoidable disclosure and misuse, but no website, email service or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Do not send passwords, payment card details, identity documents or other highly sensitive information through the enquiry form or project portal.
Australian privacy laws
Australian privacy laws may apply depending on the nature and size of the business and the information handled. This page does not claim that every requirement of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies to Townsite.au.
Access, correction and complaints
You can contact us to ask about personal information we hold about you, request a correction or ask whether information can be deleted. Depending on which privacy laws apply, you may also have external complaint options, including the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
